ABOUT

Curious Little Bears

Hi, I'm Vicki and I am the founder of

Curious Little Bears.

Working with children is something I have always enjoyed doing.

I was a Primary School teacher for ten years and really loved being in a bustling classroom.  After having my second child, I decided that I wanted to spend more time with my family and left teaching.  I had the opportunity to take on a role as a class leader of a children's group.  I loved doing this! It was fun and did not feel like work at all.

During lockdown, I thought about what was best moving forward, and I decided that I would create my own group using my own experience, expertise and ideas.  I completed my level 2 qualification in Makaton and was passionate about incorporating it into the group.

The first Curious Little Bears sessions launched in March 2022.  I love putting these sessions together for you and your children.  If you haven't joined in yet...the teddies are waiting!

Curious Little Bears Values

What Curious Little Bears strives to do...

Spark Imagination

The different weekly themes are there to encourage imaginative play.

Build Confidence

Activities help to build confidence in little ones to try new things and explore the world around them.

Develop Communication

Makaton provides a way for children to express themselves and helps develop their language and communication.

The teddies are ready to play.

 A caring and nurturing environment.

At Curious Little Bears everyone is made to feel welcome. Don't worry if your child starts crying, won't join in or wants to play with something else.  We are all understanding.

Sessions are friendly, relaxed and inclusive.  We hope you all leave with a smile on your face.

Makaton

Makaton is a form of communication that uses signs and symbols.

At Curious Little bears, we use Makaton signs throughout our sessions.  Signs relate to daily life tasks, greetings, food and drink, colours and more!  We use them seamlessly, you may not even notice how many you know!

Makaton is beneficial for children of all ages and abilities.  It has been proven to develop speech, as well as social interaction.  It develops fine and gross motor skills and listening and attention skills.  It also allows children to express themselves and communicate their needs.
